Mathilda ""Tillie"" M. Keller, age 101, of Litchfield, MN, died on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Ecumen, Gloria Dei in Litchfield, MN, where she was taken care of by her family during the last months of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN, concelebrated by Father Joseph Steinbeisser and Monsignor Robert Wyffels. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, at the Augustana Memorial Chapel in Litchfield, MN with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Memorials may be given to the Litchfield Area Hospice. ""Tillie"" Marie Keller, the daughter of Jacobus B. and Mathilda M. (Lauwagie) Wyffels, was born on June 24, 1910 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She graduated from Marshall High School 1929 and continued her education, graduating from the Mankato Business School in 1930. She was united in marriage to Roscoe Keller in the Church of St. Philip Parsonage on May 19, 1936. Throughout her life, Tillie was a homemaker and also worked for Swift and Company in Marshall, MN, was a cashier at the Litchfield Produce in Litchfield, MN, worked with tax preparation, and the Litchfield Public Utilities from 1959 until retirement. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip. Tillie was very proud of her family and liked to reminisce about her life on the Wyffels home farm in Marshall. She was instrumental in setting up the Wyffels US and Holland family reunion and the Lyon County Museum display for her brother Lawrence Wyffels' WWII efforts on the USS Enterprise. Tillie enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, praying the Rosary, watching the MN Twins, the Olympics and the EWTN channel on TV, doing word puzzles, knitting, crocheting, tracking the stock market, investing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as an excellent host who loved to prepare and serve food, entertain guests, and play bingo and the card games Contract Bridge and 500. She is survived by her children, Ron (and Margaret) Keller of Morton, MN, Dave (and Carol) Keller of Willmar, MN and Carol (and Dennis) Mattson of St. Cloud, MN; former daughter-in-law, Barbara Keller of Litchfield, MN; 7 grandchildren, Michael, John, Richard, Angelia, Andrea, Noelle and Christopher; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anne Wyffels of Michigan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
