Mary H. Wilson, age 83, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at the Litchfield Christian Church in Litchfield with Pastor Mike Zylstra officiating. Mary Hazel Wilson was born on December 15th, 1924, the daughter of Neil and Edna (Randall) Rogers in McCook , Nebraska. She received her education at Oberlin, Kansas graduating in 1942. She earned a Bachelors degree at Kansas State University graduating in 1946. Upon graduation Mary taught high school at McPherson Kansas for three years. In 1949 she completed the Physical Therapy Technicians program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She also completed advanced training in physical therapy at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center in April 1952. Mary was united in marriage to John L Wilson Jr. on August 2nd, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three sons. Mary worked as a physical therapist in Chicago, Dallas, and Omaha for the Visiting Nurses Association taking care of polio patients until 1953. She was a member of the Litchfield Christian Church, the Physical Therapist Association and held a Lifetime Teaching License in Kansas. Mary served as Church Sunday School Superintendent for 14 years at Olivet Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. She sang Soprano in church choirs. Choir was where she met her future husband and later sang with her 3 sons. She was noted for her cooking, sewing, knitting, and handiwork providing numerous items for her family and as donations for church and charitable organizations. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Neil and Edna Rogers, brother John, and Sister Ethel. Mary is survived by her husband John L Wilson Jr. of Litchfield, MN; children Larry (and Lhea) Wilson of Huxley, Iowa, Lance (and Kim) Wilson of Aurora, CO and Brian (and Sharon) Wilson of Litchfield, MN; 6 grandchildren (Heather, Hillary, Evan, Paul, Angela, Bethany); and 8 great grandchildren.
