Mary Huisman

Mary Huisman, age 92, of Litchfield, MN, died on Saturday, December 15, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in Atwater, MN Mary Huisman the daughter of Meint and Leona (Naber) Huisman was born August 30, 1920 in the Willmar area. She grew up and got her education in the same area. She worked many years at the Litchfield Woolen Mills. Mary and her sister Martha, moved to Glencoe and worked there for a number of years. After retirement the three sisters took care of their mother until her death. In 1995 they moved to Hutchinson and were there until they became ill. They then moved to Litchfield, MN to an assisted living place. After breaking her hip she spent 2 1/2 years in the Nursing Home in Litchfield. She chose to serve the Lord at an early age and kept true to her commitment through out the rest of her life. Mary was a very loving, caring person and she had a lot of visitors during her lifetime. She enjoyed doing quilting and handy work. She is survived by her brother, Wilfred (Geraldine); and sisters, Emma Henderson of Glencoe, MN, Lois (Dean) Larson of Bloomington, MN and Laura (Stephen) Wilkerson of Oroville, WA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives, as well as a multitude of friends.
