Mary Ann ""Marian"" Helland

Mary Ann “Marian” I. Helland, age 85, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Beckville Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN with Pastor Maggie Cumings officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mary Ann Irene Helland was born on April 7, 1924 in Elbow Lake, MN. She received her education in Kenyon, MN. She was a member of the Hauge Lutheran Church in Kenyon where she was confirmed. Throughout her life, Mary Ann lived in Elbow Lake, Kenyon, Faribault, Franklin, Hutchinson and Litchfield. She worked at Finger Hut and Jennie-O in Litchfield, MN. Mary Ann enjoyed reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events in the community and world. She also enjoyed playing cards, writing letters, walking and spending time with her family. Mary Ann is survived by her nieces and nephews Kathy (and Jon) Koepp of Litchfield, MN, Phillip (and Pat) Lee of Portland, OR, Gary (and Judy) Lee of Litchfield, MN, Bruce (and Priscilla) Lee of Litchfield, MN, Dwayne (and Tammy) Lee of Rochester, MN, Sharon (and Don) Phillips of South Carolina, Dan Helland of Texas, Lynn Baldwin of New Jersey, Melanie Lopez of New Jersey, Curt Helland Jr. of New Jersey and Eric Helland of New Jersey. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews; 2 great great nieces and 2 great great nephews; cousin Alice Rosland of Norway along with several other cousins; brother-in-law George Lee of Litchfield and family friend Karen Dawes of Winsted, MN. She is preceded in death by her brothers E. Curtis Helland and infant brother Harvey Helland and a sister C. Elaine Lee.
