Martha Schneider

Martha A. Schneider, age 94 of Watkins, MN passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2024 at the Hilltop Healthcare Center in Watkins, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 10, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty, MN. A visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Martha Ann Schneider, the daughter of Henry and Susan (Garding) Schneider was born on May 6, 1930 in Marty, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the Holy Cross Church in Marty. Martha received her education at the Marty School House. She grew up on the family farm in Marty, MN and continued to live there with her brother. She helped farm with her brother, and was also a homemaker. This original homestead became a family century farm.

Martha was the last of her generation. She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, cooking, baking, canning and caring for kids. Martha was like a grandma to many neighborhood children. Martha also enjoyed selling her eggs, and volunteering at Hilltop Care center. 

Martha is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Susan Schneider; siblings Al Schneider, Rose Loesch, Clara Erpelding, Mark Schneider, Walter Schneider, and Alma Schneider.
