Marlyn ""Bud"" Magnuson

Marlyn W. ""Bud"" Magnuson, age 86, of Litchfield, died on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Interment will be held at Burr Oak Cemetery in Manannah. Marlyn Wesley ""Bud"" Magnuson, the son of Alvin and Alice (Hartz) Magnuson, was born on November 30, 1928 in Litchfield, MN. He graduated from Litchfield High School and served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Avis Carlberg on May 8, 1954, at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, MN. Bud lived in Litchfield his entire life. He was a pin setter at the bowling alley and worked at 3M for 37 years. After his retirement he delivered newspapers and helped with maintenance at the funeral home. Bud was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed woodworking, going for drives, gardening and volunteering and greeting at church. Bud is survived by his wife Avis Magnuson of Litchfield, MN; children Lynn (John) Dylla of Buffalo, MN, Chuck (Judy) Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Dan Magnuson of Buffalo, MN, Ron Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Tim Magnuson of Litchfield, MN, Julie (David) Gossel of Litchfield, MN; 17 grandchildren Jason, Jacob and Jesse Dylla, Ryan and Mitchell Magnuson, Danielle, Kylie, Colton and Dylan Magnuson, Brenna Bermel, MacKenzie and Noah Magnuson, Amanda Magnuson, Beth Wig, Emily Elke, Sarah Rueter and Heather Gossel; 13 great grandchildren; sisters Eunice (Rufus) Paul and Sharon Welch; and many nieces and nephews.
