Marlow E. Wigen, age 81, of Litchfield, MN, died on Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8 at the Zion Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Marlow Eugene Wigen, the son of Elmer and Lillie (Nelson) Wigen, was born on October 28, 1934 in Tyler, MN. He went to school in Russell, Mora and Litchfield where he attended school at district 13. He was baptized February 17, 1935, and was confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora, MN on July 17, 1949. He married Anna Mae Rick on September 26, 1959 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Marlow has been in the seed business since 1950, and was active in processing and conditioning seed on the Wigen Seed Farm. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where he was an usher and on the Trustee Board. He was on the Consumers Co-op Board for 18 years, the Minnesota Crop Improvement board for 6 years and a board member of the Peanut Butter and Milk Festival. He was also a 4-H leader and helped start the 4-H livestock auction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Anna Mae Wigen of Litchfield, MN; daughter Marla (Ben) Thissen of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Jay (Ashley) Thissen and Sara (Dustin) Koepke; and great grandchildren Lauren Thissen and Liam Koepke.
