Marjorie F. Norgaard

Marjorie F. Norgaard, age 96, of Litchfield, MN, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Ecumen Emmanuel Home, Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Atwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Joseph W. Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at the Union Cemetery, Atwater, MN. Memorials may be given to the Litchfield Area Hospice. Marjorie Florence Norgaard, the daughter of Reuben and Georgia (Busch) Broman, was born on December 23, 1914, in Lake Elizabeth Township, Kandiyohi County, MN. She attended Atwater High School, graduating in 1932. She was confirmed from the Rosendale Methodist Church. She was united in marriage to Vergil Norgaard on May 29, 1937 in Delano, MN. Together they farmed west of Litchfield for a few years before moving to Acton Township east of Grove City. She was a member of the Atwater Methodist Church and enjoyed dancing, watching the Minnesota Twins, flowers, gardening and canning. She is survived by her nephews, Ronald (and Mary) Broman of Minneapolis, MN and their children Jo and Jesse and John Broman of Minneapolis, MN; and various cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Vergil; parents, Reuben and Georgia and a brother Russell.
