Marian Foster

Marian V. (Kittelson) Foster, age 88, of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Litchfield, died on Friday, August 1, 2008 in Hudson, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Ness Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Ness Memorial Lutheran Cemetery. Marian V. Foster, the daughter of August and Josephine (Anderson) Nelson was born on October 19, 1919, in Meeker County, Greenleaf Township, Minnesota. She was confirmed in Beckville Lutheran Church in 1933. She attended District #94 grade school and Litchfield High School, graduating in 1937. On May 27, 1939, she was united in marriage to Willard G. Kittelson. Together they farmed southwest of Litchfield near Star Lake. Willard preceded her in death on April 21, 1966. She married James L. Foster of Foley, MN on September 30, 1972. Marian loved music. She sang in a quartet with her siblings and in the ladies choir and trio at Ness Church. She was a member of Sweet Adelines and she loved to play the accordion, and played in the nursing homes around Foley, MN. Marian worked at the Litchfield Independent Review for some years as well as the Montgomery Ward Store in Litchfield. After moving to St. Cloud she worked at Dan Marsh Drugs for a number of years. Marian is survived by her son Gary (and Colleen) Kittelson of Florida; 2 daughters Mavis (and Don) Larson of Willmar and Karen (and Jack) Sherwin of Florida; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Willard; second husband James in September 2006, and her son Wayne Kittelson in October 1992.
