Margaret Theresa Werner

Margaret T. Werner, age 94, of Litchfield died on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Ecumen of Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Church of St. Philip. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, December 28th with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Darwin. Margaret Theresa Werner, the daughter of Peter and Louise (Smith) Werner, was born on August 20, 1918, in Forest City and attended country school. Her family moved to Rose Creek, Minnesota and she graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1938. After high school she moved to South Dakota to live with and help her sister Lorna while Victor was in the military. When he returned from service she moved to the state of Washington to study cosmetology. She then moved across the country to Washington D.C. where she ran her own hair salon called the Cinderella Shop. In 1985 she retired and moved to Litchfield. She enjoyed volunteering at the Meeker Memorial Hospital and Emmanuel Home. She was an active member of the Church of St. Philip, was a third order St. Franciscan and member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Litchfield Writers' Club. Margaret loved to travel and was always willing to drive. She enjoyed her pets and collecting clowns. Margaret is survived by her sisters Lorna Ulwelling and Camilla Katlack both of Litchfield, many nieces and nephews.
