Margaret I. Walsh, age 84, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in South Range, Wisconsin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Church of St. Philip with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with a Parish Prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Murdock, MN at 2:30 PM on Wednesday.
Margaret Isabella Walsh, the daughter of Nicholas and Louise (Berger) Glieden, was born on October 9, 1927 near Brooten, MN. She grew up in Brooten, MN and graduated from Brooten High School. After her education, she moved to Little Falls and joined the Sisters of St. Francis. During her postulate, she worked as a nursing assistant at St. Otto's Home in Little Falls, MN and at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She later worked as a book keeper at Fandel's Department Store in St. Cloud. In 1958, she was married to Martin J. Walsh Jr. at the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud. In 1964, they moved to Litchfield, MN. Margaret most recently lived in South Range, WI. She was a very organized person and a tremendous home maker. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint and reading. She was a very talented artist and painted with oils and acrylic. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Margaret was a Cub Scout Den Mother and enjoyed creating craft projects with the scouts. She was an active parish member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. She is survived by her children Paul (and Chris) Walsh of Bennett, WI and Jannet Walsh of Murdock, MN; six grandchildren; a sister Catherine (and E. Douglas) Larson of Roseville, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son David in infancy; brothers Joseph Berger and George Glieden; and a sister Veronica Branshaw. Previous Events
