Mable Catherine Foley

Mable C. Foley, age 92, of Cokato, formerly of Litchfield, died on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Cokato Manor in Cokato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:30 PM on Monday, October 12, 2015, at the St. Johns Catholic Church in Darwin. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Litchfield at 10: 00 AM on Tuesday, October 13th. Mable Catherine Foley, the daughter of John and Katherine (Jiran) Chekal, was born on February 21, 1923, in Hutchinson. She grew up in Silver Lake, Darwin and then Litchfield area. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1942. She worked at Dayton in Twin Cities after school during the war. She was united in marriage James Foley at the Church of St. Philip. She worked at Finger Hut for a few years before working at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield for several years. She worked in house keeping at Emmanuel Home until she was 80 years old. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip and Al Anon. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering and word searches. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took a trip with Jim in 2000 to Ireland that was one of the highlights to her life. She is survived by her daughters, Mary (and Arthur) Hoffman of Brownton, Kay Foley of Mankato, Carol Clough (and friend Joe) of Litchfield; grandchildren, Jenny Hoffman (and Steve Schultz), Larry (and Stacie) Hoffman, Ryan Clough (and Amy) and Kyle Clough; great grandchildren, Lydia Schultz, Noah Say, Ava Hoffman, Ella Hoffman and Summer Clough. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine; husband, Jim; daughter, Barb Foley; siblings, Margaret, Rudy, Ernie and Tom.
