Luella J. Salmela, age 71, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the University Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. A walk through visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield.
Luella Jane Salmela, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Jorgenson) Salmela, was born on December 17, 1948, in Litchfield. She grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School. In 1968 she was united in marriage to Wayne Roy Jackson. Luella managed the Country Kitchen in Litchfield for several years and then worked at The Edge in Cedar Mills. She also cleaned several area homes. Luella enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing cards and dice. She also enjoyed listening to music, dancing, shopping, traveling, trips to the casino, and garage sales.
She is survived by her children Wendy Jackson (friend Kenny Meyer) of Cosmos, Tammy Jackson of Switzerland, Tim Jackson of Cosmos, MN. Grandchildren Shelby (Adam) Haman, Timothy Olson, Tyler Jackson, Gloria Roibal, Jayden Jackson, Connor Jackson, Kylie Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson and great grandson Rhett Haman. She is also survived by her brother Ray (Reta) Salmela of Roy, MT brother-in-law Harold Robison of Lebanon, MO, son-in-law Eli Roibal, nieces, nephews and a family friend Richard Gransee. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Wayne, sister Joann Robison and niece Stacy Robison.
