Lucille Mary McGraw

Lucille McGraw, age 94, passed away on October 11, 2016, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 13th at the Augustana Chapel at 203 north Armstrong Avenue in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the lake Ripley Cemetery. Lucille Mary McGraw, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (McPhee) Dornfeld was born on March 29, 1922 in Redwood Falls, MN. She was baptized on June 18, 1922, confirmed on April 14, 1935 and on September 14, 1943, she married Robert Banning McGraw in Redwood Falls, Minnesota at St. John's Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed with two children, Richard and Kathleen. She and Robert shared 70 years of marriage as they lived in Willmar, Atwater, Cayuga, North Dakota, Darwin, Delano and New Brighton. At these various locations she held positions as bookkeeper, bank teller and secretary for Robert when he worked for Burlington Northern. In 1981 they moved to Litchfield for their retirement years. Lucille and Robert spent 17 winters in Mission, Texas where they made many good friends and the fun began! Once they moved to S. Davis street in Litchfield, the fun continued. They were the neighborhood grandpa and grandma! Her Christmas brunches were a treat for everyone in the area. Lucille enjoyed her beloved China painting activity and all her family are blessed with many beautiful pieces. Lucille was an avid Minnesota sports fan who enjoyed watching the Twins, Gophers and Vikings and discussing them in detail over dinner in the ""Cove."" Her church and faith were a very important part of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lucille is survived by her son, Richard McGraw (Nancy) of Hutchinson, MN, son-in-law, Michael Duclos (Judy) of Akeley, MN. Grandchildren: Ronald McGraw (Michelle) of Dassel, Mark McGraw of Shakopee, MN, Leah Starke ( Mark) of Hutchinson, MN, Kyle Duclos (Jill) of Walker, MN, and Kelly Duclos (Martha) of Robbinsdale. Great-grandchildren: Reid (Melanie) of Fargo, ND. and Michael McGraw, Nicole Garner (Tim) of Winter Springs, FL., Megan, Madison and Kady McGraw, Isaac and Jacob Starke, Chelsea, Jesse and Tyler Duclos, Elsa and Henry Duclos, Great-great granddaughter, Adeline Garner and numerous nieces and nephews.
