Louise M. Baldwin

Louise M. Baldwin, age 97, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Lakeside Healthcare Center of Dassel, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN, with Pastor Christa Forsythe officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Louise Marion Baldwin, the daughter of August and Mary Bergquist, was born on December 9, 1915, in Collinwood Township, Dassel, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. She grew up and received her education in Steelesville School, District 22 and graduated from the Dassel High School in 1933. Louise was united in marriage to Richard ""Dick"" Baldwin at the Beckville Parsonage in 1936. Together, they made their home on the Baldwin farm by Star Lake until 1940 when they moved to their home in Litchfield. They had three children; William ""Billy"", George and Susan. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She had been active in LCW and Circles and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also active in Home Extension, and did extensive volunteer work. Her hobbies were many over the years including quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, hunting, fishing, baking, canning, crossword puzzles, growing African violets, and gardening. Louise is survived by her children, George (and Helen) Baldwin of Litchfield, MN and Susan (and Jon) Smart of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren, Adrian Baldwin and Evan Baldwin; brother Kenneth Bergquist of Dassel, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
