Lorraine M. Seiffert

Lorraine M. Seiffert, age 94 of Litchfield, MN passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday October 9, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Lorraine Marcella Seiffert, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Stellrecht) Meissner was born on April 16, 1921 in Spooner, Wisconsin. She graduated from Spooner High School in 1933. Shortly after high school she moved to Chicago where she met the love of her life Ernie while he was serving in the Navy. Lorriane and Ernie were united in marriage at the Green Grove Alliance Church in 1948. This union blessed them with 67 years of marriage and four children. They made their home in Mason City, IA and later the Darwin area before moving to the family farm in Litchfield in 1951. Lorraine has dedicated her entire life being a devoted mother, homemaker, and attended to the farm right up until September of this year. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. Lorraine had a fun sense of humor and liked to watch Dr. Phil on television and listen to the music of the Gaither Family. She enjoyed and was known for her great baking and cooking. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, reading, and spending time with children and her family. She is survived by her husband Ernie of Litchfield, MN; children Gordy (Dawn) Seiffert of Litchfield, MN, Claire (Steve) Fitch of Mobile, AL, Bryan (Cheryl) Seiffert of Coon Rapids, MN and Darrell (Leaurie) Seiffert of Litchfield, MN; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and sisters Shirley (David) Burg of Moundsview, MN and Doris (Edgar) Burg of Moundsview, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Arden.
