Lorraine Gwendolyn Anderson

Lorraine G. Anderson, age 92, of Litchfield and formerly of Grove City, died on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City with Pastor Jean Smith officiating. Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service at the church. Lorraine Gwendolyn Anderson was born on January 13, 1918 on the family farm in Litchfield Township, Meeker County, MN the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Larson) Carlson. She grew up on that farm, was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School. On July 17, 1949, Lorraine was married to Marvin B. Anderson at First Lutheran Church in Grove City and they lived in Grove City their entire married life. Lorraine worked at First State Bank in Grove City until retirement. Lorraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church all of her 92 years. She was active in and enjoyed working and being involved in her church as church secretary on altar guild and especially her women's ""Circle"" and WELCA. Lorraine enjoyed her work at First State Bank. She enjoyed her co workers and training the summer college students that worked during summer vacations. She enjoyed crocheting, and sewing. She loved family trips and all the trips made with her brother and sister-in-law from Wisconsin. She enjoyed all the Sunday night suppers out with her sister and brother-in-law. Lorraine especially enjoyed her family and was so proud of her two grandsons. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Mahn and husband Lloyd and her grandsons Brent and Ryan Mahn all of Atwater. She is also survived by her sister Linnea (Mrs. Gordon) Johnson of Atwater, brother-in-law Clarence Anderson of Racine, WI, sister-in-law Myrtle Kiplinger of California, nephew-in-law Wayne Reich and his children Alyssa (and Aaron) Abrahamson, their daughter Lilly, Travis (and Sam) Reich and Kyle (and FiancAC.e Nicole) Reich. She was preceded in death by her brother Anfred, parents, husband, brothers-in-law Vendel Larson and Gordon Johnson and niece Janet Reich.
