Lorayne B. Caauwe, age 88, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Ecumen Emmanuel Nursing Home of Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Church of God in Litchfield with Pastor Dale Swartz officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Lorayne Beryl Caauwe, the daughter of Harley and Anna (Carter) Carter, was born on July 24, 1924 in Jeffers, MN. She was united in marriage to Merle in Sioux Falls, SD on May 20, 1961. In Litchfield, Lorayne worked at Johnaceks, McDonalds and as secretary for Shaklee Products. She was a member of the Church of God, and active in the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was past President and treasurer. She enjoyed spending time at home and being with her family. Lorayne is survived by her children, Everill Mertesdorf of Litchfield, MN, Gary (and Ella Mae)Caauwe of Kimball, MN, Barbara (and Gary) Wyse of Bransen, Missouri, Jill (and Steve) Miller of Kimball, MN and Terry Miller of Litchfield, MN; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Curtis (and Jerry) Carter of Jeffers, MN; sisters, Barbara Hartwig of St. Louis Park, MN, Iris Knutson of Windom, MN, and Bernice Olson of Storden, MN; and brother-in-law Alquin Heckert of Faribault, MN.
