Linda Earl

Linda M. (Lanning) Earl, age 52, of Litchfield, MN, died on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN with Pastor Harvey Nelson and Pastor Christian Muellerleile officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Roseville Cemetery, Hawick, MN. Linda Marie (Lanning) Earl was born on December 10, 1957 in Chincoteague, Virginia. She grew up in Minnesota and received her education at the Litchfield High School. She spend several years in Florida, New York and Wisconsin before returning to Litchfield, MN in the spring of 2009. Linda was a restaurant owner and operator over the years where her skills and personality brought great success. She was resourceful, kindhearted, young at heart and was able to find the good in any situation. She believed that everyone mattered and never expected anything in return when she helped others. She was actively involved in making strides against breast cancer with the American Cancer Society and helped run the annual St. Mary’s Catholic Church Thanksgiving Dinners for the community of Portage, Wisconsin. She enjoyed crafting, cooking and spending time with children, especially her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter and sense of humor. Linda is survived by her parents James and Edith Haugen of Litchfield; siblings Carral (and Dorothy) Lanning Jr. of Litchfield, MN, Gloria Stevenson of Alexandria, MN, Melodie (and Mike) Gaffney of Briggsville, WI, Jamie (and Virgil) Wiechmann of Litchfield, Carla (and Dan) Smith of Hutchinson, Jolyn Haugen of Milwaukee, WI and Brent (and Dean Baxter) Haugen of Minneapolis, MN; 11 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Eugene Lanning, grandparents William and Minnie Kemp and an uncle George Kemp.
