Lillie O. Roeske

Lillie O. Roeske, age 95, of Litchfield, MN, died on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Thursday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be held in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN. Lillie Oral Roeske, the daughter of Samuel and Lillie (Turvey) Gibson, was born on June 8, 1919 in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1937 and was united in marriage to Willard Roeske in Tarkio, Missouri on October 3, 1937. Throughout her life Lillie lived in Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin and Minnesota. She was a grocery store clerk and a homemaker before becoming the Clerk of County Court in Warren, MN. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also in the Garden Club, the Mothers Club and was a 4-H Club Leader. Lillie enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, crocheting, walking, listening to audio books and spending time with her family and friends. She had a fun sense of humor and loved dogs. She is survived by her children, Leo (Melba) Roeske of Fulton, Mississippi, Joel (Lita) Roeske of Atwater, MN, Mary Mendoza of Litchfield, MN, Nancy (Mike) Cashman of Litchfield, MN and Kelly Roeske of Willmar, MN; grandchildren Brian, Bruce, Bob, Scott, Bradley, Rand, Susan, Lance, Darian, Casey, Carter and Lindsey; and several great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; sister Neva Sorensen of Maple Plain, MN; and many extended family.
