Lillian M. Novak

Lillian M. Novak, age 91, of Litchfield, MN died on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at her home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Lillian Margaret Novak, the daughter of Otto and Amanda (Born) Doebler, was born on June 14, 1921 in Crystal, North Dakota. Lillian was united in marriage to Ernest Anderson on March 30, 1940 in Lake of the Woods County, MN. They lived in Manannah, MN and later moved to Litchfield in 1943. Lillian later was united in marriage to Edward Novak in Litchfield, MN on August 9, 1969 and they moved to New Prague, MN. She moved to Litchfield in 1990. Lillian worked for 3M in Hutchinson for many years and was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed riding and showing quarter horses throughout her life. She was the 1989 Minnesota All Around Novice Champion, and competed until she was 79 years old. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Minnesota Quarter Horse Association, and the Meeker County Saddle Club. She also enjoyed traveling, was an excellent cook and talented seamstress, sewing wedding dresses and all of her riding outfits.
