LeRoy John Potter

LeRoy J. Potter, age 93, of Willmar, MN died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in St. Cloud at the Veterans Affairs Health Care System. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 23, at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar everyone is welcome. LeRoy John Potter the son of Hallen and Lillian (Randall) Potter was born on February 18, 1925 in Cyrus, MN. He grew up and received his education in Waubun, MN. In 1936 they moved to Willmar. He enlisted in the Navy and served from 1943 to 1945. He was united in marriage to Alvina Hanson on September 3, 1949 in Willmar, MN. LeRoy worked as a auto parts salesman and truck driver throughout his life. LeRoy a member of American Legion Post #0167 and VFW Post #1639. He also was a member of P.O.W. and Willmar Sportsman Club. LeRoy traveled extensively with his son Roger on fishing trips to Mexico and Alaska. LeRoy is survived by his daughters; Connie (James) Wilhelmi of Rice, MN and Kathy (David) Simar of Willmar, MN, four grandchildren; Nick, Abbie, Sarah and Jennifer, four great grandchildren; James, Rebecca, Jared and Aleya and sister; Dottie Hawkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alvina, son Roger and brothers Emry and Orville and sister Addie. LeRoy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
