Leone M. Larsen-Hamm, age 90, of Grove City died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 14th at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Atwater.
Leone Mabel Hamm, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Peterson) Berglund was born on April 1, 1920, in Willmar, MN. She grew up in rural Grove City and attended country school there. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1937. On June 15, 1940, she was united in marriage to Gale Larsen. They made their home in Grove City and Leone worked as a book keeper for Larsen Trucking. Gale died in February of 1969. Leone married Charles Hamm in 1971 and continued to live in Grove City. Later she worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Grove City. She was a member of Women’s Club and the Grove City CARE program. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving with different circles and volunteering often. Leone enjoyed cooking, baking and reading. She was also a very good seamstress, sewing many things for her family.
She is survived by her children: Robert (and Sharon) Larsen of Grove City, Dianne Lankey of Grove City, Corky (and Les) Bosch of Tuscon, AZ, Steve (and Diane) Larsen of Spicer, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, and brother Dale (and Sharon) Berglund of Bemidji. She is also survived by her step-children; Robert (and Julie) Hamm, Mike (and Connie) Hamm, Joe (and Shirley) Hamm, Barb (and Fred) Behnke, Audrey (and Rick) Twite, 15 step-grandchildren, 30 step-great grandchildren and 1 step-great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents an infant sister and both husbands.
