Leona J. Schultz

Leona J. Schultz, age 86 of Litchfield, MN went to be with our Lord on Thursday August 30, 2018 at Bethany Memory Care in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Leona Boreen was born September 2, 1931 to Mabel (Nelson) and Roy Boreen near Dassel in Meeker County. She was united in marriage to Willliam Schultz on August 14, 1949. Together they farmed for nearly 50 years. Leona and Billy raised five children, Mike, Kathy, Vicky, Wendell and Scott. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Grove City and Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. In her early years Leona worked as a waitress and later on in life she worked at Red Owl and Ecnofoods in Litchfield. Leona loved the farm life and being outside. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and watching birds and flowers grow. Burger King was her favorite place for friends and breakfast. She is survived by her children Mike and Kelly Schultz of Grove City, MN, Kathy and Gale Larson of Litchfield, MN, Vicky Cyrus and Dewey Johnson of Motley, MN, Wendell and Kim Schultz of Cushing, MN and Scott and Norma Schultz of Grove City, MN; 15 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; siblings Marlyn Stoffers, Rodney and Jolaine Boreen; Larry and Nancy Boreen and Janice Heveron. She was preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Roy Boreen; her husband William; grandchild Mandy Geesey; great great granddaughter Amilia; brother Eugene Boreen; sisters Jeanette Boreen and Rosie Larson; and brothers-in-law Rodney Stoffers, Denny Heveron and Lyle Larson.
