Leona Quast

Leona T. Quast, age 99, of Litchfield, MN, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Joseph Steinbeisser celebrating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted, MN. Leona Theresa Quast, the daughter of Clemens and Mary (Lueck) Quast, was born in Winsted, MN on December 10, 1912. She grew up in Winsted and received her education at Holy Trinity Catholic School. She lived on the farm with her parents until moving to Litchfield where she worked at the hospital for 25 years in housekeeping until her retirement in 1977. Leona was a member of the Church of St. Philip and the Daughters of Isabella. Leona enjoyed cooking, quilting, and playing bingo and cards. She embroidered many dish towels and had a special rhubarb tort recipe. Leona is survived by her nieces and nephews along with her great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews.
