Litchfield

Layla Elizabeth Icenhower, 15, of Litchfield, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

A celebration of Layla’s life will take place from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home.  A GoFundMe has been established and can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/u2j58-funeral-expenses?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet.

Layla was born on August 30, 2007, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Dustin and Aireal (Mead) Icenhower.  She moved to Litchfield with her father and stepmother, Caridad Icenhower, in 2021 and attended Litchfield High School as a sophomore.  Recently, she had made “Student of the Week”, an accomplishment she was proud of.

Layla loved to sing karaoke, skateboard, watch movies, and hang out with her friends and family.  She loved making people laugh and was known to steal other people’s phones to take silly photos.  She enjoyed doing gymnastics and playing volleyball.  Layla was bubbly, smart, and always smiling.  She was great with little kids and would play with the younger siblings of her friends when visiting their home.

Left to cherish Layla’s memory are her father and stepmother, Dustin and Caridad Icenhower; her mother, Aireal Icenhower; her grandparents: James Pease, Tony (Sherry) Icenhower, Thomas Mead, Lisa Lanning, and Rosa Quiñones; her great-grandparents, Paul and Caroline Icenhower; her uncles, Robert Pease and Richard Mead; her siblings: Gavin Icenhower, Marisol Fragoso-Padroń, Perlita Fragoso-Padroń, Victoria Fragoso-Padroń, Lucia Marroquin-Fragoso, Zelda Icenhower, and Ezekiel Icenhower; and many other loving family members in West Virginia and Ohio.

Preceding her in death was her grandmother, Lena “Peach” Icenhower-Pease; her uncle, Nicholas Icenhower; and her great-grandmother, Alice Ilar; and her cousin, Robin Taylor.
