Lawrence ""Larry"" F. Harding, age 82, of Litchfield died on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016, at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Lawrence Frederick Harding, the son of Frederick and Lilly (Reins) Harding was born on May 21, 1934 in Lake Lillian. He grew up and attended country school near Lake Lillian. Larry worked for an auto body shop in Lake Lillian. On September 19, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lois Oslund. They moved to Litchfield and Larry worked in auto body repair for Fenton Motors. He eventually opened his own auto body repair business and ran it until Lois died in 2001. He was a member of First Lutheran church, and life member of the Eagles Club. He was a member of the Litchfield Rescue Squad and Fire Department. He served on the fire department from 1958 until 1981, serving as the Chief from 1972 until 1977. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. In his younger years he enjoyed stock car racing and drove in many races. He is survived by his children, Debbie (and Jim) Steil of Litchfield, David Harding of Caspar, Wyoming, Wendy (and Allen) Neu of Cokato; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sister, Marlene Vanderbeek of Paynesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, sisters, Beulah (and Howard) Oslund, Lorraine (and Barney) Manderschied, and Marion (and Dwayne) Garberich. Previous Events
