Lawren Mead, age 79 of Spicer, MN died on Sunday January 29, 2023 at his home in Spicer. Lawren celebration of life will be at Green Lake Free Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be held at a later date at the Roseville Cemetery in Haiwick, MN.
Lawren Mead was born April 5, 1943, in Fahlen Township, Kandiyohi County to Miles and Jennie Mead. He attended District 39 Country School and New London-Spicer Class of 1961. Lawren worked in the construction industry for over 35 years. He was a 49er Heavy Equipment Operator working through the state of Minnesota. His most memorable job was working on the Silver Creek Tunnel by Two Harbors. He also worked on the pipeline, sewer and water, and 10 years at the Green Lake Nursery.
Lawren had many hobbies; hunting, fishing, hunting arrow heads, metal detecting, and old cars. He was a member of the Willmar Car Club; he restored a 31-model A Ford. His latest project was a 48 Ford Deluxe. He met many friends through the car club.
Lawren loved his family and was very active in his church, serving as an usher, trustee, and attending bible study. He was very adept at fixing most anything and did most of the work when he built our house.
He will remain in the hearts of his wife Carole, of 60 years; children Jerome (LeAnn) of Arizona, Becky of Kandiyohi, Michelle (Allan) of Atwater, and Kris of Spicer; sister Ruth Sanderson; in-laws Linda Mead, Gerald Arends, Elaine Mead, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Florence, and Opal; brothers Donald and twin brother Lawrence “Fats”; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Blessed be his memory.
