Lauretta A. Hanson

Lauretta A. Hanson, age 90, of Paynesville, MN, died peacefully at her home in Paynesville, MN, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 9, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, 225 North Holcombe Ave Litchfield, MN, with Pastor Gordon Pennertz officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the church. Interment with the family will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Staples, MN. Lauretta Ann (Brummer) Hanson, daughter of William and Ida (Hannebuth) Brummer was born January 24, 1925 in Staples, MN. Lauretta received her education at Staples High School graduating in 1943 with honors. She was united in marriage to Wallace D. Hanson on August 31, 1946 in Staples, MN. Together they raised their family in Staples, MN until 1960, then in Litchfield from 1960 until 1984. Wally and Lauretta retired to Rice Lake near Paynesville, MN for summers and wintered in Mesa, AZ for 26 years. They owned the Coast-to-Coast Hardware store in Litchfield, MN from 1960 until 1984. Lauretta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. She and Wally enjoyed their years at the lake, fishing together, playing cards and the many gatherings of grandchildren and great grandchildren. In Lauretta's words, ""It's all about family."" Lauretta is survived by her six children; Linda (Doug) Meyer of Springfield, IL, Kay (Tim) Hanson-Lane of Eden Valley, MN, Dean (Bev) of Paynesville, MN, Bob (Mary Lou) of Sartell, MN, Barb (Don) Snegosky of Maple Grove, MN and Chris (Kevin) Hanson-Ehlinger of Spring Park, MN; 17 grandchildren: Nichole (Mike) Spain, Keith (Kathryn) Meyer, Jennifer Johnson, Gustaf (Kathy Langelier) Johnson, Sami Tierney, Amy (Kyle) Allen, Kerry Strand, Jessica (Jason) Olson, Tracy (Ryan) Murphy, Adam (Megan) Snegosky, Kate (Brent) Hannan, Jeff (Char) Snegosky, Ashley Hannig, Cory Fox, Kazz Ehlinger, Bayley Ehlinger and Cayson Ehlinger; ten great-grandchildren: Nolan Snegosky, Courtney Snegosky, Parker Snegosky, Mason Hannan, Jaydon Snegosky, Brody Snegosky, Caleb Spain, Corbin Olson, Connor Allen and Evan Allen.
