Kevin P. Young

Kevin P. Young, age 21 of Forest City died early Thursday, October 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield with Pastor James Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11th at the Cornerstone Church. Interment will be in the Forest City Cemetery. Kevin Paul Young, the son of John and Tina (Shoutz) Young, was born on May 14, 1990 in Litchfield, MN. He lived for a short time in Kimball before his family moved to Litchfield in 1994. In 2000, they moved to their current home just north of Forest City. Kevin received his education in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School in 2008. He worked for his dad's construction company while in high school. After high school Kevin enlisted in the Marine Corp and became a reservist. His pride and dedication to the Marine Corp was evident when, while in training he was promoted twice to the rank of Lance Corporal. In 2011, he returned to Forest City and worked full time for his dad. Kevin worked very hard but liked to find ways to enjoy work. He was a fun loving person and was very out going. Kevin liked being friends with everyone and truly enjoyed all sorts of different people. One of his passions was the out-doors. He enjoyed hunting and was a remarkable fisherman. Even though his life was cut much to short, he touched many people with his caring smile and friendliness and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his parents; John and Tina Young of Forest City, brother Alex Young of Forest City, grandparents Doug and Leona Young of Watkins, many other relatives and friends.
