Kenneth 'Ken' F. Hanson

Kenneth F. ""Ken"" Hanson, age 89, of Dassel, MN died on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Dassel Lakeside Health Care Center. A funeral service will held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Lamson Evangelical Free Church in Dassel, MN with Pastor Josh Hutchcraft and Pastor Todd Harris officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Kenneth Frank ""Ken"" Hanson, the son of Frank and Emily (Pearson) Hanson was born in Litchfield on May 23, 1924. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1942. Ken served in the Army Airforce. He was united in marriage to Edith Allen on August 25, 1945, while on furlough, Ken from the Air Force and Edith from the Marine Corps Women's Reserve. In 1952 they moved to Dassel and raised four chil dren. They owned and operated Ken's Food Market for 13 years. Ken later worked at 3M in Hutchinson until his retirement. He was a member of the Lamson Evangelical Church and attended the Oak Heights Covenant Church in Hutchinson. He was a member of the Dassel Commercial Club and the Nelsan-Horton Post #104 American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carving, biking, golfing, playing tennis, gardening, walking, traveling, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his children, Ken Hanson of Clouquet, Kathy (and Virgil) Anderson of Dassel, Sheila (and Larry) Rossell of Atwater and Scott (and Delores) Hanson of Darwin; grandchildren; Jama (and Jon) Hansonbrook, Elizabeth Hanson, Zachery (and Julie) Anderson, Caitlin Anderson, Shara (and Marco) Marquez, Emily (and Ryan) Goodsen, Stacy Rossell, Mila Hanson, Cyrus Hanson; and great grandchildren; Micah, Abel, Milo, Eli, Jasper, Eva, Brittney, Ashtyn, Brenden and Ethan; and brother Lloyd Hanson of Litchfield, MN.
