Keith Adams

Keith F. Adams, age 57, of rural Cosmos said his final Aloha to family and friends the evening of December 3, 2010 at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in near Cedar Mills with Pastor David Markworth officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM until 8:30 PM on Friday, December 10th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the services at church. Keith Franklin Adams, the son of Arthur and Georgianna (Dostal) Adams, was born February 24, 1953 in Hutchinson MN and has been a lifelong resident of the Cosmos area. Cosmos was home, but for the last twenty years he loved his winter escapes to Oahu, Hawaii. Keith started his school life at St. Johns School in Cedar Mills and graduated from high school in Cosmos MN, during his life he took classes related to Agriculture and Farming. Keith was diagnosed with ALS in late 2007. He was determined to not let it alter his life and activity. He was a professional farmer and dearly loved the land. Keith, Alan, and Cousins Duane and Doug Adams would share parts, especially for the combines, and would confer with each other about their professions. Those times will be very much missed. Keith and Alan operated their farms in the area with dedication and determination, but still found evening time or at the fall harvest of the garden to keep some of their mother's cooking skills alive. As the ALS caught up with him over the last few years he still made his trips to Hawaii and a special trip to Sulphur, LA to be with Megan and Hunter for their wedding. Hunter grew up on a farm so Keith visited the farms in Louisiana and checked out the rice fields and crawfish ponds. We think we would have liked the fact that you cannot walk on the water in January in Louisiana. This fall it was Keith who finished combining the last field of corn, chopped those cornstalks, and tilled that last field, a job and life well done and finished. Keith was not a joiner of groups or clubs but he was always there to support and help friends and family. Memorials preferred to the ALS Society, Litchfield Hospice Program or the Humane Society of your choice. Keith was preceded in death by his parents Art and Georgianna Adams. Survived by brother Bruce (and Melinda) Adams of Burnsville, brother and business partner Alan Adams of Cosmos, brother Mark Adams of Cosmos, uncle and travel buddy George Dostal of Hutchinson, aunt Marie Adams of Cosmos, aunt Kathryn Lorence of Brooklyn Park, niece and godchild Megan Adams-Habetz (and Hunter) of Sulphur, LA and special friend Ann Newshafer of Litchfield as well as many cousins and friends.
