Julie A. Langness, age 48, of Cosmos, MN, entered eternal rest on Thursday March 1, 2018 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the church ending with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be held at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
Julie Ann Langness, the daughter of James and Janet (Bauer) Lies, was born in Olivia, MN on June 11, 1969. She grew up in the Litchfield/Cosmos area and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1987. Shortly after graduation she moved to Cosmos. Julie was blessed with three children; Heather, Josh and Ashley, with Lyle Nelson. She was later blessed with her son, Braeden. Julie was united in marriage to Chris Langness on April 27, 2002 at Peace Lutheran Church, Cosmos. In joining their families she was blessed with another daughter, Heather. Over the years Julie worked at Nystorm’s, Lies’ Lanes, Cosmos Legion, HTI, Floral Expressions, and Casey’s. She also provided daycare for her family and friends. Julie was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Cosmos and later the United Lutheran Church of Lake Lillian. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served on the Cosmos Ambulance Squad. Julie enjoyed camping, traveling, playing bean bags, Christmas baking and attending her children’s sporting events. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and the rest of her family.
Julie is survived by her husband Chris Langness of Cosmos; children Heather (Tony) Stueber of Litchfield; Josh (Mary) Lies of Atwater; Ashley (Jordan Kaiser) Nelson of Cosmos; Heather (Cody Schauer) Langness of Gibbon, and Braeden (Tori Bagley) Lies of Cosmos; parents Jim and Jan Lies of Litchfield; grandchildren Carson, Aiden and Gavin Stueber; Baby Lies; Braleigh Nelson and Cameron Kaiser; Noah, Aubree and Paislee Schauer; sisters Janelle (Tim) Carroll of Mesa, AZ; and Jen (Matt) Buboltz of Gibbon; brother-in-law Tony (Kathy) Langness of Litchfield; mother-in-law Kay Langness of Litchfield; nieces and nephews Angela (Jake) Warszynski; Alex Maahs-Stewart; and Brooklynn, Hunter and Mattalynn Buboltz.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Elmer and Jenny Lies & Harold and Adeline Bauer; father-in-law Stan Langness; Aunt Joyce Larson; Donald Nelson; and best friend Tootie McCarthy.
