Josephine B. Ploeger, age 92, of Litchfield, MN, died at Ecumen of Litchfield, on Thursday, May 5, 2011. Jose's Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN, with Roger Klinghagen officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on May 15, 2011 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Emmanuel Home of Litchfield, MN. Josephine Barbara Ploeger, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Waksmonchi) Nezda, was born on September 6, 1918 on the family farm, in Hatley, Wisconsin. She was Baptized as an infant at St. Florian Church in Hatley, Wisconsin on September 15, 1918 and later in her youth, she was Confirmed in her Faith, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin. On April 2, 1938, she married Williard Ploeger at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This marriage was blessed with six children and they shared 58 years of marriage. She was a loving homemaker, wife and mother. She attended church at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN, where she enjoyed Roger Klinghagen's singing. She enjoyed being a Christian, loving wife, mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, crafts and sewing. In her younger years, she was a member of the Eastern Star (Fidelity, Constancy, Loyalty and Love.) She especially enjoyed her last few years at Emmanuel Home, with all the caring people, her roommate Rebecca Gagner, and before entering hospice, loved playing bingo and riding her exercise bike. Blessed be her memory. She is survived by her children, Roger (and Kathy) Ploeger of Stanley, Wisconsin, William Ploeger of Minneapolis, MN, Donald (and Judy) Ploeger of Chandler, AZ, Charles (and Kathy) Ploeger of Tauton, Mass., Jean (and Darrel) Lindquist of Paynesville, MN and Ronald (and Ann) Ploeger of Litchfield, MN; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; and siblings Frank, Henry, Ann, Freda, Helen, Rose, Marie and Walter.Previous Events
