Josephine ""Joey"" Marklowitz

Josephine “Joey” K. Marklowitz, age 67, of Litchfield, died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Samuel Morsching officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. Josephine Kathleen “Joey” Marklowitz was born on October 10, 1942 in Glencoe, Minnesota the daughter of Elmer and Amanda (Dose) Oltmann. She grew up and received her education in Glencoe, graduating from Glencoe High School. Josephine was united in marriage to Ed Marklowitz, Jr. on January 29, 1966 in Glencoe, MN. She moved to Litchfield in 1966. Joey worked at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, she also worked as a waitress and most recently at the Meeker County Community Homes. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Joey was an avid bowler and a good golfer. She enjoyed country music concerts, the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and trips to Las Vegas. She was a shuttle specialist on the farm driving from field to field and made delicious chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. She is survived by her husband Ed Marklowitz Jr. of Litchfield, MN; daughters Dawn Marklowitz and special friend Daniel Rajewsky of Paynesville, MN and Carey (and Brett) Greenwald of Las Vegas, NV; grandson Kenny Greenwald of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Violet (and Clarence) Zebell of Glencoe, Bernice Breyer of Glencoe, Syliva (and Earl) Nelson of Little Falls, MN, and Ona (and Robert) Lange of Pequot Lakes, MN; brother Elmer (and Bev) Oltmann Jr. of Lebanon, Ohio; mother-in-law Alvina Marklowitz of Litchfield; sisters-in-law Lois Oltmann of Howard Lake, MN and LaVonne (and Hal) Huso of Litchfield; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Richard Oltmann, Chester Oltmann and Nancy Oltmann; and brother-in-law Arden Breyer.
