Josephine "Jo" Seitz

Josephine "Jo" Seitz passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, just turning 95, at Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN.

Jo was born in Bemidji, MN, on April 11, 1928. She married Thomas Seitz in July of 1945. Shortly after, the couple moved to the Litchfield area and settled down.   

Jo worked at Woolworth's in Litchfield as an associate and was promoted over the years to manager until the store closed. After that, Jo worked at Cottington's Super Value, J.C. Penney, Pamida's Garden Center. 

Jo was a loyal parish member who served Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 104. In addition, Jo was always available to serve coffee or volunteer her time at several community functions spanning the years.  

 A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion. She especially loved the African Violets. Jo was skilled in knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and quilting. In addition, she enjoyed the bowling league, outings with friends, or a quiet card game at home.

Jo is survived by her sons Steve Seitz of Bement, Illinois, Stanley (Nancy) Seitz of Queen Creek, AZ, and daughter Sharon (Douglas) Johnson of Watkins, MN. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Seitz, and granddaughter, Krystal Johnson. 

The family would also like to thank the Meeker Manor staff, who took great care of her in her final years.

There will be a private interment where Jo will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Seitz, in Blackduck, MN.
