Jon L. Mortenson

Jon L. Mortenson, age 56, of Litchfield, MN, died on Friday February 19, 2016 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Jon Leslie Mortenson, the son of Roy and Doris (Almgren) Mortenson, was born May 9, 1959 in Litchfield, MN. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1978 and continued his education at auto mechanic and trucking school. Jon moved to New Ulm, where he met MaryAnn Nelson. They were united in marriage in New Ulm and later moved to Litchfield. Jon worked with several trucking companies over the years, driving coast to coast in 48 states. While working, Jon was best known by his CB handle ""Trapper Jon"". He was a member of the CB Radio Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He is survived by his wife MaryAnn of Litchfield, MN; daughter Amanda Mortenson of Litchfield, MN; step-children Cheryl Baier of Hutchinson, MN and Stephanie Baier of Litchfield, MN; granddaughter Cerenity Baier of Litchfield, MN; sister-in-law Cynthia Nelson; nephews Thomas Nelson, Joey Nelson and Michael Nelson; niece Jennifer Nelson; and several cousins.
