John D. Schultz, age 42, of Willmar, MN, died on Saturday, March 14, 2009, in Willmar, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, with Pastor Gary Worthington officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene on Thursday. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. John David Schultz, the son of Lester and Carmille (Hawkinson) Schultz, was born on January 28, 1967 in Litchfield, MN. He grew up in Hector and Corvuso, MN. After graduating from high school in Hutchinson, John moved to Willmar, MN where he enjoyed working at many different jobs. He loved to watch movies, go bowling, and play games with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed Lite-Brite and spending time with family. John was honored to carry the torch during a Special Olympics that was held in Willmar, MN. He will be remembered for the good-natured teasing that he often gave to his caregivers, friends and family. John is survived by his father Lester Schultz of Cosmos, MN; siblings Samuel Schultz of Willmar, Thomas (and Faith) Schultz of Olathe, KS, Ruth Matheson (and Leigh) of Kasota, MN and Timothy Schultz of Minneapolis, MN; 9 nieces and nephews Maggie Schultz, Justina Schultz, Alicia Schultz, Nicole Schultz, Jared Schultz, Scott Schultz, Joseph Schultz, Levi Schultz and Austin Schultz; aunts and uncles Pat (and Bill) Benham of Grand Rapids, MN, Dick (and Vonnie) Hawkinson of Cohasset, MN, Gale Hawkinson of St. Paul, MN, Fred (and Lois) Schultz of Litchfield, Margaret Lorenson of Atwater and Leona Plamman of Hutchinson. He is also survived by many cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother Carmille; 2 sisters Leslee and Lisa; nephew Joshua Schultz; uncles James Hawkinson and Bennie Hawkinson; and an aunt Marie Plamman.
