John F. Hoffman, age 57, died on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN. A private family memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Paul Lindhorst officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN. John Fredrick Hoffman, the son of Eugene and Hulda (Orness) Hoffman was born on June 19, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN. John was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield and kept his membership there his entire life. As a young boy, he enjoyed growing up on the farm near Litchfield and driving tractor. He attended the Minnesota School for the Deaf, graduating in 1971. He continued his education at the Dunwoody Institute. John worked as a welder for various places in Minneapolis where he lived his entire adult life. John was a unique individual and loved trinkets, watches, pens, and flashlights. He also enjoyed cheeseburgers.
John is survived by his sister, Carolyn (and Tom) Christensen of Litchfield, nephew Tait (and Martha) Christensen and family of Litchfield and niece Trina (and Terry) Driver and family of Litchfield. He is also survived by his dear friend and interpreter Cathy Lyle and husband Rick from Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Mark.
