Joann Phyllis Homann

Joann P. Homann, age 88, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, February12, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery. Joann Phyllis Homann, the daughter of William and Cecilia (Hahn) Kruger, was born on January 6, 1930, in Greenleaf Township, Minnesota. She attended grade school in Dist. 94 and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1947. Joann worked at various places including Nortronics in Dassel and Hanson Silo Company. She was married to Eugene Homann in 1953, and they moved to Montana for three years. They then returned to Minnesota and lived in Minneapolis for 13 years before moving to Litchfield. They bought the Dist 13 School house and lived there until adding a modular home to the property. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Joann was a greeter for 3 years and on the altar committee for 6 years at St. Paul Lutheran Church. At age 62 she attended college for two years studying meteorology. Joann enjoyed quilting, traveling, putting puzzles together, watching M.A.S.H. on TV and visiting friends and relatives. She also was a board member of the DAC (Pro-Works) for 20 years. She is survived by her children Michael Homann of Litchfield, Wendy Pillatzki of Aurora, CO, Suzan (Dale) Anderson of Litchfield, Heide Homann of Litchfield; grandchildren Michael Holmes, Shaylon Homann, Kyle (Kim) Pillatzki, Michaela (Tyler) Criswell, Jesse Anderson, Jason (Stacy) Anderson, Christina (Brian) Fitzgerald; and great grandchildren Jaade, Landon, Peyton, Tatum, Ethan, Dawson, Mason, Ashton, Jameson, Wyatt, Ciera, and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, brother Arnold and sisters Lorraine, Luella, Harriette, and Isabelle.
