Jerry Beckman

Jerry W. Beckman, age 65, of Litchfield died at his home in Litchfield, on Thursday, July 3, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Harvey Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Jerry William Beckman, the son of Emil and Marian (Volker) Beckman was born on November 25, 1942 in Bottineau, North Dakota. He grew up on the family farm in Manannah, and later moved to Litchfield, MN. He graduated from the Litchfield High School in 1960 and continued his education, graduating from the St. Cloud Vocational School in 1962. On January 30, 1965 he was united in marriage to Judy Klitzke at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Jerry owned and operated Beckman's Appliance and TV in Litchfield for 35 years. He later worked as a utility line locator, and after retiring, he worked at the Lake Ripley Resort Bait Shop. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Jerry enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife Judy of Litchfield; son Chris (and Stephanie) Beckman of Litchfield; daughter Brigette (and Chad) Flolo of Farmington, MN; 2 grandchildren Ashley Beckman and Lily Flolo; and a sister Elaine (and Bo) Bock of Plymouth, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Marian.
