Jeannette K. Cordes

Jeannette K. Cordes, age 58, of Litchfield, MN, died unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, May 29, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday June 2, 2014 at the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held at the Rosendale Methodist Cemetery. Jeannette Kay Cordes, the daughter of Eldred and Marytemple (Kunard) Behrens was born on January 24, 1956 in Fairmont, MN. She graduated from Grove City High School in 1974 and continued her education at the Willmar Jr. College, graduating with an Associates Degree. Jeannette was united in marriage to Brian Cordes on August 20, 1977 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield. They made their home southwest of Litchfield where they farmed for seven years and she worked as a secretary at the Litchfield High School prior to having her three children. In 1985, they moved to Olivia, MN until returning to Litchfield in 1989. Jeannette cherished her time at home where she was able to homeschool her children over a span of 20 years. She attended the Victory Christian Fellowship Church and was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, keeping a journal and taking care of her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be remembered as a prayer warrior and for her encouraging words. She is survived by her husband Brian of Litchfield, MN; children Heather (Joshua) Weseman of Grove City, MN, Laura (Josiah) Puckett of Benson, MN and Adam (Hannah) Cordes of Hutchinson, MN; seven grandchildren, Hannah Weseman, Holly Weseman, Haven Weseman, Heidi Weseman, Jewel Weseman, Jonah Puckett and Harrison Puckett; mother Marytemple Behrens of Litchfield, MN; brothers, Douglas (Kathy) Behrens of Champlin, MN, Stuart (Sharon) Behrens of Litchfield, MN and William Behrens of Litchfield, MN; sister Carol (Rich) Streufert of Glencoe, MN.
