Jeanette Fern Hurley, age 71, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Forest City with Pastor Truman Stehr officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Interment will be in the Forest City Cemetery.
Jeanette Fern Hurley the daughter of Henry and Alma (Radunz) Groskreutz was born on August 16, 1938 in Harvey Township, MN. Jeanette was confirmed at St. Matthew’s on March 29, 1953. She grew up and received her education in Litchfield, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Hurley in St. Cloud on October 14, 1961. They made their home in Litchfield. Jeanette enjoyed being outdoors planting flowers and watching the birds. She liked to listen to polka music, embroider and do word searches. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Berg of Wheaton, MN and Kim Hurley of Litchfield, 2 grandchildren, Ashley and Dustin, brother, Arnie Groskreutz of St. Cloud, MN, sisters, Ethel Euerle of Litchfield and Bernice and Orville Euerle of Buffalo, sister-in-law, Betty Groskreutz of Litchfield besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alma and brother, Clarence.
