Jean Cecelia Schultz

Jean C. Schultz, age 93, of Litchfield, died on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery. Jean Cecelia Nelson was born on June 27, 1924 in Acton Township, Meeker County, to Nels B. and Lillian (Ward) Nelson. At age 10 her family moved to Paynesville. She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1943. She worked at the First State Bank in Litchfield from 1943 until 1946. On April 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to Victor A. Schultz. They moved to Minneapolis and later bought a home in St. Louis Park. She and Victor both worked at McKesson Drug in Minneapolis. She had worked there for 33 years before retiring in 1982. In 1999, they sold their home and moved to Litchfield. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church and when she could not attend church she made sure to watch services on the television. Jean enjoyed reading, traveling with Victor, and making lefsa. She is survived by cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor in 2013, brother Cecil Nelson and sisters Wilma Nelson and Leona Housman.
