Jean C. Ruhn

Jean C. Ruhn, age 90, previously of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, June 22, 2015 in Eau Claire, WI. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN. Jean Catherine Ruhn, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Rebehn) Breid was born on January 25, 1925 in Wadena, MN. She graduated from Wadena High School in 1942. Jean moved to Litchfield in 1951 and was united in marriage to Elton Ruhn in Minneapolis, MN on July 3, 1954. Throughout her life Jean worked as a telephone operator, a butcherette at Super Value, and as a CNA in home health care and at the Nursing Home in Litchfield for 8 years. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Wadena, MN, the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield, MN the Shalom Baptist Church in Hutchinson, MN and the VFW Auxiliary. In 2009, Jean moved to Eau Claire, WI. She enjoyed handiwork, quilting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her time spent wrapping Bibles that were sent overseas, writing notes of encouragement, making hats for infants and caps for women with cancer, making scarves for the homeless and lap quilts for Veterans. Jean loved the Lord and wanted His love to shine through in all she did so that others may see Him. Jean is survived by her children Steven Ruhn of Minneapolis, MN, Rebecca Ruhn of Eau Claire, WI and Gina (Mark) Bashans of Hutchinson, MN; grandchildren Philip Bashans, Anna Bashans and Sarah Bashans; brothers Robert Breid of New Richland, MN and Milton (Shirley) Breid of Bloomington, MN; and brother-in-law Robert Dewey of Syracuse, NY.
