Jean A. Hodak

Jean A. Hodak, age 79, of Litchfield, died on September 13, 2011, at Ecumen of Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Litchfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Kerr officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Jean Arlien Hodak the daughter of Edward and Hilda (Lindgren) Linden was born March 13, 1932 at Atwater, Minnesota in Kandiyohi. She was baptized and confirmed at the Atwater Methodist Church. Jean attended grade school in Atwater until the family moved to Litchfield. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1950. Jean worked for Dr. Danielson and later as a nurse's aid at the Litchfield and Bullhead City Hospitals. On July 29, 1955 she was married to Emil Michael Hodak from Willmar, at the Atwater United Methodist Church. Three children were born to the union. Marsha and Steven died hours after birth. Roger was born in January, 27, 1961 and passed away at 24 years old. Emil passed away in 1993. Emil, Jean and Roger moved to Bullhead City Arizona in 1967 and Jean remained there until 12 years ago when she returned to Litchfield. Jean was an active member of the Rosendale Methodist Church until last year when she transferred membership to the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Jean enjoyed the quiet. She loved to read, was a marvelous house keeper and a great cook. She also enjoyed playing dice and dinner out at Peter's on the Lake. Jean is survived by her cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil and three children.
