Janice Eilertson

Janice "Jan" Mae Eilertson, age 66, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Emmanuel Nursing Home. She had been diagnosed with cancer in March 2006. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008, at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor David Sorensen officiating. Inurnment will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery. Jan was born January 8, 1942 to Jalmer and Vienna (Leino) Lindgren in Grand Rapids, MN. She graduated from Greenway High School in 1960 and received her teaching degree from the University of MN Duluth. On August 15, 1964, she married Bradley Eilertson in Bovey, MN. In 1966 they moved to Litchfield, where she spent her career as a teacher in the Litchfield School District. Jan thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She liked fishing, golf, casinos and socializing with her dear friends. One of her favorite pastimes in recent years was traveling the country with friends and family. Jan is survived by her son Deron (Chris) and their children Matthew Alt and Abigail Christine, Ramsey, MN; son Dave and his son Alex Jal (Mindy Petersen and Rachael) Janesville, MN; mother Vienna Lindgren, Elk River, MN; sister Jean (Dan) Peterson, Sartell, MN; brother Bob (Jayne) Lindgren, Dellwood, MN; brother Don (Judy) Lindgren, Paynesville, MN; sister-in-law Sandy (Jim) Williamson, Allouez, MI; several nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by her husband Brad, her father Jalmer and Brad’s parents.
