Janet Steinhaus

Janet L. Steinhaus, age 67, of Litchfield, MN, died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Lakeview Ranch in Dassel, MN, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Janet Leona Steinhaus, the daughter of Lawrence and Leona (Degner) Brooks, was born on June 1, 1947 in Bird Island, MN. She graduated from Cosmos High School in 1965 and was united in marriage to Del Steinhaus in the Cosmos United Methodist Church on July 10, 1965. Janet worked at 3-M and as a nurses aide in Cosmos and Litchfield. She was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, walking, riding bike, reading the Bible and her daily devotion, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time camping at the lake, playing cards and drinking coffee with friends and attending her grandchildrens's activities. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Del of Litchfield, MN; children Kerry (Mike) Manning of Litchfield, MN, Chad (Jenn) Steinhaus of Litchfield, MN and Stacy (Jason) Schultz of Litchfield, MN; 7 grandchildren, Gage Manning, Gavin Manning, Devin Steinhaus, Ryanna Steinhaus, Dawson Steinhaus, Hunter Schultz and Beau Schultz; brother Ron (Susan) Brooks of Mankato, MN; aunts Velma and Helen; close family friends Hope, Tyler and Trevor Rieck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
