Janet Lucille Lentz

Janet L. Lentz age 84, of Litchfield, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Litchfield, MN at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home, Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Litchfield Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Janet Lucille Lentz, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Paterka) Olson, was born on July 28, 1927, in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended school in south Minneapolis. On April 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Edwin Lentz. They made their home in Minneapolis while Edwin finished his degree from the University of Minnesota. They moved to Adams and lived there for a couple of years before moving to Franklin, MN. They live in Franklin for 17 years and then moved to Clear Lake south of Watkins. After four years of living on the lake they moved to Litchfield in 1973 where they lived ever since. Janet was active in the Church and the Gideons Auxiliary, and cherished nothing in life greater than her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a fearless witness for the Lord to strangers and acquaintances, and dearly loved her friends and prayer partners. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful cook and baker. She also enjoyed walking, biking, sewing, reading, and being a first grade volunteer helper at Ripley Elementary School with her husband Edwin. She was a devoted mother and wife and loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Edwin of Litchfield, sons, Gary (and Sandra) Lentz of Augusta, Georgia, Gregg (and Bernadette) Lentz of Browerville, MN, Douglas (and Wendy) Lentz of Gilbert, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, Rachel (and Joey) Osborne, Carrie (and Jason) Miller, Miriam (and Glen) Scogin, Joshua Lentz, Marissa Lentz, Megan Lentz, Benjamin Lentz and Morgan Lentz and 5 great grandchildren: Caleb and Hannah Osborne, Titus and Alexis Miller and Emma Scogin. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (and Barbara) Olson of Lakeville and sister, Jeanne Boenning of Minneapolis.
