James Junior Taina

James J. Taina, age 74, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Ecumen of Litchfield. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. James Junior Taina, the son of Andrew and Mildred (Raskie) Taina, was born in Kingston, MN on April 4, 1937. He grew up in Meeker County and received his education at a country school Dist # 1 in Kingston. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1959. On August 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Vivian Johnson at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. The made their home in Litchfield and Jim worked for LeRoy Berg Tile and Drainage. He also worked at Fingerhut, Schwartz Manufacturing, B. Lease & Sons and Airtex. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #104. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends. He loved his family and was always available for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Litchfield, children; LeeAnn Niece (and special friend Dennis Dougherty) and Kevin (and Crystal) Taina both of Litchfield. He is also survived by grandchildren; Ryan and Tanner Niece and Vanessa, Daniel and Mason Taina, brothers; Joseph Taina of St. Cloud, Robert (and Kristi) Taina of Dassel, sisters; Rose Renner of Watkins and Rhonda Taina of Kingston.
